Carolyn Jean Casper, daughter of Ralph and Helen Lorraine (Darling) Fitzimmons was born September 23, 1927, at Cedar Rapids. She was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, attended School District 28 through the 8th grade and graduated from Cedar Rapids High School in 1944 with Normal Training. After high school, she taught school for two years..
On April 21, 1946, Carolyn was united in marriage to Kenneth Casper. The couple lived and farmed near Primrose, until 1961 when they moved to Cedar Rapids. In 1971, they moved their family to Albion..
While living in Cedar Rapids, Carolyn worked at Swerczek's Cafe and babysat. After moving to Albion, she worked for Karges Dairy, McDonalds Clothing, Thriftyway, and the Albion Country Club. She was a member of the United Methodist Church Women, Christian Women's Club, and volunteered with the American Red Cross Bloodmobile. She enjoyed being a part of the Harmony Homes community..
She is survived by four sons, Larry Casper and wife Theresa of Waterloo, David Casper and wife Sandy of Columbus, Marvin Casper and wife Therese of Albion, Don Casper and wife Sharon of Albion; one sister, Barb Cox and husband Dan of Albion; one brother, Don Fitzimmons of Lincoln; daughter-in-law, Eileen Casper of Albion; twenty grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren..
