    James H. Pressnall, 76, of East St. Louis, IL, born Sunday, February 12, 1933, in East St. Louis, was called home Friday, September 25, 2009 surrounded by his wife and childern at his residence.

    James was All-State in track and football during his high school years at East Side in East St. Louis, IL. He attended Miami University in Coral Gables, FL on a scholarship and played for the Miami Hurricanes. After College, he spent 2 years active duty in the Army and continued in the Army Reserves where he reached the rank of 1st Lieutenant. After a short time as a patrolman with the East St. Louis Police Department, he founded Pressnall Paving, which he has continued to operate for over 46 years. He has also been a member of Local 100 Laborers for over 50 years. His loves in his life besides his family were Genealogy and Gardening.

    Mother and Father-in-law: Helen and Walter McCroskey of East St. Louis, IL

    Wife: Carole A Pressnall nee McCroskey of East St. Louis, IL, whom he married at St. Phillips in East St. Louis 48 years ago

    Funeral: Memorial mass will be held at 11am Tuesday September 29, 2009, at St. Stephens Catholic Church, Caseyville, IL with Father Clyde Grogan officiating. By his request cremation was held.

    red A. Pressnall, 77, of Collinsville, Ill., born Jan. 13, 1935, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Relais Bonne Eau in Edwardsville, Ill.

    Fred was retired from Conrail railroad, where he worked as a yardman for 42 years. He was owner and operator of Douglas Asphalt paving for 17 years.

    He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pam Pressnall; his parents, Fred and Agnes, nee Dywer, Pressnall; his two sisters, Dolly Goldfarb and Rosetta Chapman; and his brother, James Pressnall.

    Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fairview Heights, Ill.

She was married to Bill Chapman and never had any children. She spent some time teaching in Florida and then moved back to Illinois. She passed away from lung cancer. Her siblings were Fred Pressnall and James (Jim) Pressnall. Her half sister was Anna Marie Asher Lesseg and half brother was William Thomas Asher aka "Bill" Asher.
